A Persian astrolabe, 18th century. Solid brass housing with engraved inscription along the front perimeter. Three finely engraved plate-shaped disks inside, one with the maker's signature. Engraved and pierced cover decorated with four silver rivets. Engraved inscriptions on the reverse with movable pin-fastened bridge. Sturdy loop with suspension ring. Superbly crafted.
