I love these old ruins that dot the landscape of the Highlands and Islands, they are echos of another, simpler, time and slowly disappearing to either rennovation or time. This particular example overlooking Caolas Sgalpaigh on the very edge of the Isle of Harris had a planning notice hung on the gate stating that it was to be returned to crofting, which is great as it means more life returning to an island that has been in decline but also a shame that another voice from the past will be lost to the modern world.
