'The strikers' march to London', 1905: postcard of a band of Northampton army boot makers marching to the War Office in London to request an enquiry into the wages paid for army boots by certain firms who were said to have contravened the fair wages cause. The 115 protestors were led by Joe Gribble & marched from Raunds, & through Bedford, Luton, St Albans, Watford, before reaching London on 12 May 1905
