The base-ment under the engine room is onthe same level as the boiler room, ex-cepting that between the enginefoundations there is a pit for thecondensing machinery 14 ft. belowthe engine room floor. The roof trusses are of steel, and theroof is iJ/2-in. matched sheeting laid on nailing strips fastened.
