The HMM Rotterdam is an Algeciras class container ship, a group of twelve cargo vessels which equally can carry the largest number of containers by any ship in the world, at nearly 24,000 containers. The 400m long, 232 thousand tonne HMM Rotterdam entered service in June 2020 and will be making regular journeys between Asia and Europe. It departed DP World London Gateway port in the Thames at Stanford le Hope, Essex bound for the North Sea and is seen towering over Southend Pier
