Thebest phosphate rock analyzes 80 per cent calcium phosphate. The Idaho rock tests70 per cent, making it a very good grade. The principal reason the Anaconda company has engaged in the manufacture ofphosphate fertilizer is because it affords an opportunity to utilize large quantities ofsulphuric acid which is a by-product of the copper smelters. Until the establishmentof this fertilizer plant, there was a market for only about 3 per cent of the sulphuricacid that the Anaconda smelters could produce. LAND OF OPPORTUNITY.
