A BDR man couldn’t hold back his tears when taking leave from his family to report back to the Headquarters. BDR men are registering their name and rank, at the courtyard of the Rifle Square market, before reporting back. Pilkhana, Dhaka, Bangladesh. March 1, 2009. A mutiny by Bangladesh Rifles, BDR, soldiers broke out in their Headquarter in Pilkhana, in the morning of 25th February, making the area into almost a war zone. Several thousand shots were fired from machineguns, killing around 60 army officers, at the BDR Pilkhana Headquarters and several civilians near the area. Military personnel took strategic position on the roads to tackle the situation.
