She was a representativeof one of the pioneer families of Washtenawcounty, and has reached the age of sixty-sevenyears, during which time she has lived in but twohouses, the one in which she was born and the oneto which she went with her husband in is a daughter of Elijah and Almira (^^?ar-ner) Ellis, both of whom were natives of theEmpire state, and at an early age came to thiscity. One of the principal residence streets herewas named in honor of her father, who was prom-inent in Ypsilanti, and for many years continuedin active business at this place.
