Trier in Rheinland-Pfalz was once the political hub of the roman empire. The city was founded almost two thousand years ago by the romans, according to legend the city should be even older than that, some claim it to be four thousand years old. Today the city is a splendid mix of history and modern living, particularly the large city square is worth a visit with it's splendour of old buildings. Summer 2006.
