In preparations made from the blood it is found that the corpuscles are somewhat irregular in shape, that they are running together in little irregular masses, and that the bacilli are much more numerous than the blood corpuscles. As regards the size of the bacilli it may be observed that the rods vary not only in length (in the same animals), but that they are of different breadths according as they develop in.
