Brownings the Bakers has ‘kicked off’ its new supply contract with Asda, which will see the retailer stock the family business’ iconic Kilmarnock pies in 46 stores across Scotland. Established in 1945, by current Managing Director, John Gall’s grandparents, Brownings the Bakers most famous product, the award-winning Kilmarnock Pie, is well known as the Best Pie in Scottish football. It is unique in the fact that it is a traditional Scotch pie shell filled with chunks of beef enriched with a secret blend of rich gravy and topped with a flaky puff pastry lid. “Becoming a supplier to Asda for the first time with our Kilmarnock Pie is fantastic,” explained John Gall, Managing Director, Brownings the Baker added, “Brownings is a proud family run traditional company, now employing over 180 staff. We handcraft all our products from a purpose-built bakery and savoury factory. “Our founding principles haven’t changed - a local business sourcing the finest ingredients to create products of the highest quality.
