Burscough, Merseyside, UK Weather 15th November, 2017. Spectacular Starling flocks mumurate over Martin Mere nature reserve at sunset as an estimated 50 thousand starlings gather at the onset of a cold winter, and the early nights trigger this autumn gathering and groupings. The murmur or chatter, the interaction between the huge numbers as they fly, is quite intense and is thought to form part of a communication of sorts. These huge flocks are the largest seen in the last for 12 years and are attracting large numbers of birdwatchers to the area. Credit. MediaWorldImages/AlamyLiveNews
