Balmoral Castle has been a summer residence for the Royal Family for over 150 years since the reign of Queen Victoria. The Queen and her family reside here each summer from the beginning of August. This stunning building on Royal Deeside is open for part of the year to the public giving visitors the opportunity to explore the grounds. I visited the Castle on a sunny summer's day and chose this viewpoint from a corner of the extensive garden grounds. I have included one of the pretty wrought iron benches in the foreground to give perspective to the scene with the Castle bathed in warm sunlight.
