The Dubuque Star Brewing Company Building built in 1898 closed in 1917 due to Prohibition and reopened in after a variety of owners, closed in finality in 1999. The building went through extensive renovations, then beginning in 2007 as part of the redevelopment of this area near the river the ground floor became a winery and tasting center. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
