For finishing and enlarging thenew University building $25,000 was appro-priated. A Penitentiary building at Rawlinswas also provided for by the Legislature of thisyear, $30,000 being appropriated. The sum of$5,000 was appropriated for a Poor Asylumbuilding at Lander, which shall cost, whencompleted, not more than $25,000. Public Buildings.—Prior to 1886 the Territorywas almost without public buildings, but theLegislatures of that and the present year haveprovided liberally therefor. The Capitol-build-ing, begun in 1886, was so far completed inJanuary as to be occupied by the Legislatureduring the session, the sum of $150,000 beingexpended in its erection.
