The other facesare not especially plane, but are most frequently provided withcasual uneven spots, or they are, generally, however, only toa slight degree, curved and faceted. Physical properties. The specific weight measured by the pycnometer, is 3493;the hardness is 0V2—6. Cleavage is wanting; the fracture isuneven. The erikite is rather strongly coherent, so that the 99 crystals generally remain whole, when the surrounding pegma-titic mass is cut through. The colour is brownish, alwaysrather varying in the same crystal, so that the faces appear tobe striated or spotted; the colour varies between a rather lightyellowish brown and a rather dark grayish brown.
