His study of his chosen subject is by no means local. Air. Mc-Laren has on several occasions visited the great parks of this countryand those abroad, especially in England, Scotland and France. Heis the author of Gardening in California, a beautifully illustratedwork which has met high public favor. Mr. McLaren was marriedin 1876.
