In Kentuc-ky there is an im-mense mound whichlooks somewhat likethe shape of a measures aboutone hundred and fivefeet from the tip ofthe nose to the tail. In Ohio tliere is a serpentwith open jaws and gracefully coiled tail. Whenthey were first found men dug them up carelesslyand ignorantly, Ijreaking and upsetting all thatwas inside. Others, who knew their value, cut into themcarefully, so as to open them by sections, keeping Birds-eye View of the Gkeat SerpentMound, Adams County, Ohio.
