British artist Francis ("Frank") Owen Salisbury (1874-1962) and his wife, Alice. His work was in demand on both sides of the Atlantic and he was known as “Britain’s Painter Laureate”. Best known for his portraiture, Salisbury painted HM Queen Elizabeth II, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Sir Winston Churchill, including the iconic images The Siren Suit and Blood, Sweat and Tears.
