His success in the celebrated Haywardmurder case and the unra\eliny of the intricate entanglements whichcharacterized the details of the case against the Harris murderers, gavehim immediate reputation throughout the northwest, and he was re-tained by North Dakota in the trial of Myron Kent for wife murder,where his standing was still further enhanced bv success.
