Rajasaurus in the Lameta Formation of Western India. Titanosaurus graze in the background.

Rajasaurus in the Lameta Formation of Western India. Titanosaurus graze in the background. Rajasaurus was found in the Lameta Formation in western India in what is now the Narmada River Valley. Dated to 72-66 million years ago, Lameta was forested and had some river systems. India at this time was a large island making its way north to collide with central Asia/China. From some skull remains and a few other remains and fragments Rajasaurus is determined to be an Abelisaur not distantly related to Majungasaurus. Lack of remains hamper size estimates which range from 22 feet and barely 2 tons to 34 feet and over 3 tons. Here it is depicted with some speculative tiger striping. It shared the landscape with many animals including the medium sized sauropod Titanosaurus. They are estimated at about 40 feet long and maybe 13 tons.
