Lt. Col. Shaun Southall, former 117th Air Refueling Wing Operations Commander, receives a special bracelet from his father to commemorate his retirement, Sumpter Smith Air National Guard base, Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 11, 2022. Southall's father started wearing the bracelet when his son graduated from flight school and continued wearing it for more than 7,000 days until Southall retired on this day.
