Polished ruin marble. Close-up of a gemstone made from polished and cut ruin marble. Ruin marble is a kind of limestone or marble that contains light and dark patterns, giving it the impression of a ruined cityscape. Pebbles of this type of rock are found in the valley of the Arno River in Tuscany, Italy. Although probably formed by similar processes, the structures in Valle d'Arno are more geometric. Actual size 70x90mm.
