World War I British Mark 1 Brodie Combat Helmet. Produced by James Dixon & Sons with steel made by Thomas Firth and Sons. Contains a rubber ring cushioin which was introduced to the helmet style in 1917. Written inside are the initials HBK or HBR, presumably written by the original owner who could have been a British or American soldier.
