The organization, as awhole, consisted of a central office or clearinghouse at the capital, and a large number of auxil-iary societies, located, usually, at the variouscounty seats. These were the central local socie-ties, and, in addition to them, smaller contrib-uting societies were established in reached the public far and wide, and thecontributions thus gathered in were forwarded tothe Indianapolis office.
