The tank is of the water bottom type with 36 in. wheels and 5j^ 10 in. journals. The water capacity is 7,000 gal., and thecoal capacity 12/2 tons. These locomotives, as well as the latest design of Atlantictype, were designed in the office of the mechanical engineer ofthe Pennsylvania Railroad at Altoona, and built in the Juniatashops.
