A rally for ‘Marriage Equality’ was held before the return of parliament. It took place on the twelve year anniversary of the Liberal government, led by John Howard, passing the Marriage Amendment Act which enshrined the words "one man and one woman" into law. Protesters rallied outside Sydney Town Hall before marching to Pitt Street Mall and back. At Pitt Street Mall an ‘illegal marriage’ between two men was held as protesters sat down and watched.
