Macchina di Santa Rosa Viterbo
The Transportation of the Macchina di Santa Rosa, in Viterbo, 60 miles north of Rome, is a local festival which takes place every 3rd September. The 30 metre tall tower, which is illuminated with 3000 lights and topped by a statue of Saint Rose, is carried for one and a half kilometers through the darkened streets by around one hundred men dressed in white.
