Her first cousin, Franklin Porteous Holcomb, gradu-ated from Annapolis in the first class, and not manymonths afterwards lost his life in that terrible accidentin Hampton Roads, June, 1907, when a launch contain-ing eleven men, sailors and officers, was sunk in someunknown manner and all on board were drowned.
