Neighbors of Bossost dressed as penitents stay next to the church moments before starting the procession of Good Friday by the streets of the Pyrenean town of Bossost, located in the north of the Pyrenees mountains at the administrative entity of Val d'Aran, is a small village of 1000 inhabitants that since 1879 carries out the procession of Good Friday during the holy week. It is the only village in the area that has maintained this tradition and during this day the majority of its inhabitants dress as penitents to take to the streets in procession of Christian roots.
