Faskally Forest lies on the north shore of Loch Faskally, a man made loch, just outside the pretty victorian town of Pitlochry. It is something of a model forest with a wide mix of tree species, some over 200 years old, surrounding picturesque Loch Dunmore. This landscape was created last century in the grounds of Faskally House, which in turn, was used as a Forestry Commission , a gentle stroll around the woodlands will reveal the fantastic variety that has been achieved and maintained by the use of innovatory management techniques. A great time to visit is in late autumn when the loch reflects the resplendent colours of autumn from the surrounding trees.
