Turkish Hand Carved Opium Resin Harvesting Tool

In 1970's and earlier illegal opium production was a mainstay in Anatolia. This tool was used to cut one side of opium poppy and to collect the resin. A lot of these tools were seized and destroyed by local authorities to prevent the opium from being harvested.
