Bladder inflammation (cystitis). Light micrograph of a section through bladder tissue in a case of cystitis. Tissue change (metaplasia) has occurred as a result of the inflammation. The tissue has become glandular in appearance, so the change is termed glandular metaplasia or glandular cystitis. Cystitis is usually due to a bacterial infection, and is treated with antibiotic drugs. Magnification unknown.
