METHOD OF WORK The teacher should guide the carefully in themaking of the bibs, reviewing their knowledge of basting,hemming, and Fig. 17.—Bib aud straps of apron LESSON XV: APRONS OR UNDERGARMENTS—ContinuedMaking the One end of one of the straps should be placed at thebottom of the bib. The edge of the strap should be pinned,basted, and sewed to the right side of the bib with arunning-stitch. The other long edge of the strap shouldthen be turned in one quarter of an inch and the side APRONS OR UNDERGARMENTS 137 turned in one inch. The strap should then be foldedthrough the middle for its entire length and the free sidebasted to the wrong side of the bib and hemmed. Theremaining edges of the strap should be overhandedtogether. The other strap should be sewn to the otherside of the bib in the same way. PRELIMIXAKY PLAX The bibs should have been completed before the pupilsreport for this lesson, METHOD OF WORK As soon as the pupils report for the lesson, the teachershould explain the method of attaching the straps to thebib and tell them how to finish the former.
