The medallion with the unsuccessful restored photograph was removed totally by the Russian Embassy shortly after the result of the amateurish restoration works was spread in the social networks. Soviet soldiers and military officers who died in the very last days of World War II and shortly after the war were buried far away from their homes and some of their graves look abandoned and unvisited now. Their photographs are gradually destroyed by time and there are no sources to replace them by the new ones.
