A beautiful corner in the old part of Hania town, in the neighborhood called "Tophanas". Crete, Greece

Walking in the alleys of the old town of Hania is like a time travel and i think this one proves it. This is taken in the neighborhood of "Tophanas" (or "Topanas" or "Top Hanas"), which means "house of balls" because during the years of Ottoman occupation, that was the place where the Turks kept their cannonballs. Although the name is Turkish, I think that the Venetian (other conquerers before the Ottomans) influence is more than obvious.
