This blackberry was first introduced as Wachusetts Thornless, on account of its com-parative freedom from spines. This, however, is the chief point in its favor, as the plantis not productive enough to be of value to the Ontario fruit grower. Origin : A wild plant on Monadnock jNIountain, Massachusetts. Bush : A slow grower, at first upright, afterward drooping ; healthy, not very produc-tive ; spines few, fruit clusters few.
