Sarcophagus of queen Jelena (Helena) from Solin, Croatian. Epitaph inscription: In this grave lies the famous Jelena, wife of king Mihajlo, mother of king Stjepan. She won peace for the kingdom. On the 8th October in the year 976 after the incarnation of the Lord she was buried here: on the IV indication, V lunar cycle, XVIII epact, V solar cycle. She, who was mother to the kingdom in her life time, also became mother to all orphans and the protectress of windows. While you behold this say: Oh God, have mercy upon her soul !.
