Protesters in midtown Manhattan in New York demonstrate against the National Security Agency's surveillance of Americans' email and telephone conversations on Sunday, August 4, 2013. The protest was organized by a group called "Restore the Fourth" referring to the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution which protects citizens against unreasonable searches by the government. Many citizens are opposed to the NSA activities and the events which took place around the country were called "1984 Day". (© Richard B. Levine)
