(Lloretta azorella compacta) Andean plant
A hard woody growth of the south american highlands with the common name of `Lloretta' this slow growing plant is related to is a protected species in the Peruvian and Chilean Andes because its hardness makes it an ideal fuel for the local indians and in many areas it has become very scarce. Associated plants growing in the same environment are mountain grasses like Ychu, shrubs of Tola bush and rarer small trees Polypsis (shown)
