A pair of officer's percussion pistols, France, dated 1847. Octagonal Damascus barrels with patent breechblocks and finely rifled bores in 17 mm calibre. Stamped "1847" on the sides of the breeches. Colour case-hardened percussion locks engraved "Manuf. Rle de Chatellerault". Smooth walnut stocks with chequered grips and colour case-hardened iron furniture. Iron ramrods with brass tips. Length of each 38 cm. In a later, velvet lined wooden case with bullet mould, nipple wrench, ramrod, and spring vise. Key.
