In 1888 Father McKiniry was named pastor of the Jesuits Church inAugusta, Ga., and in 1890 he was appointed president of the College of the Im-maculate Conception, New Orleans, which office he filled for five years. In September, 1895, he was sent to Spring Hill in the hope that its delight-ful climate would restore his shattered health. He rallied somewliat but neverfully regained his strength. In December, 1896 he was sent to Galveston, Tex.,in the hope that the change might benefit him. Unfortunately the change of cli-mate seemed but to hasten the end.
