Soc. of London Vol. 34, 1878. Subsequently, tke Peary expedition, which was almost contemporary with Schei's, collected fossils at Princess Marie Bay in 1898. These were described by R. P. Whitfield in "Observations and Descriptions of Arctic Fossils", Bull: of the American Museum of Natural History, Vol xin, 1900. The pre-cambrian rocks to the south of the Cambro-silurian beds in the region of Bache Peninsula and the neighbourhood were described by C. BuGGE, from the collections brought back by Schei, the lists.
