Henry Edward Manning (1809-1892) English Roman Catholic prelate, born at Totteridge, Hertfordshire. After graduating from Oxford, Manning was ordained as an Anglican priest and in 1840 was appointed archdeacon of Chichester. In 1851 he joined the Roman Catholic church.
