After the meetings, the local superin-tendent of schools has interviewed thestudents to determine the value of theexperience. Their interest in the jobs theyhave seen is very high, and their moti-vation in continuing school and doingwell has increased dramatically! An ad-ditional result has been that the studentsthemselves have been able to view, criti-cally, aspects of the high school cur-riculum which do not prepare them well. Group of potential dropouts hear Western Electric representatives speak on the necessity ojan education to compete in the job market with todays increasingly complex technology. 26
