The Florists' & Gardeners Insurance Association, Lock Box 489, TOLEDO, OHIO NIKOTEEN For Spraying. APHIS PUNK NICOTINE MFG. CO ST. LOUIS. Providence, R. I. TRADE DISAPPOINTMENT. Trade during- the past week was very good, but the Thanksgiving' demand was not up to the average. Stock sold fairly well and at satisfactory prices, but the demand was far below the actual supply. Carnations, violets, roses, pompons and orchids were popu- lar items, but the great call was for chrysanthemums, all of frhich moved well. Pot pompons were good sellers and the same was true of ferns and small palms. The stores are now started for the Christmas trade and from all indications there v/ill be a good demand, but there is a possibility- of a shortage of stock. The majority of the greenhouse establishments have closed with the end of the chrysanthe- mum season and those that are open will be kept busy all winter. H. A. k Patterson, N. J. The majcrity of the local retailers agree that the Thanksgiving business was much better than last year. At the stores of Edward Sceery, it was stated that they had a great Thanks- giving business, and that their every- day trade was good. In the show win- dow of his Broadway store, there is a large Liberty wreath of magnolia and cycas. with a white dove perched there- on, the national colors being prominent in the arrangement.
