In one conf^reg^ation, these Christian volunteersafter the morning service go to the house of one oftheir number to partake of some light refreshment,. Have theynot housework as well as we? How is it theirhusbands have permitted them to go out? Oneof them is the mother of a very young child. Howintense is the desire of the Christians to propagatetheir religion ! They speak to us words of wisdom,while we know only how to cook and to eat. Theseare but women like ourselves—how pleasant is theirreading and singing ! But our eyes do not see whatis written in books. Our gods are blind, and so arewe.
