A German smallsword,circa 1600. Double-edged blade with ridges on both sides,and fullers in the upper quarter of the blade on both sides. Grooved ricasso with a heart mark and two crosses stamped on both sides. Iron knucklebow hilt with strong,octagonal quillons(barely visible repair). Grip cover with brass wire winding and braided ferrules. Heavy,cylindrical pommel.
