As shown in the illustration, engraved from a photograph, the melons are globe-shaped and thickly netted. The netting is so dense that scarcely a pin's head can be put between tne meshes. The melons weigh from two to three pounds each, and are remarkably uniform, both in size and shape. The meat is very thick (the seed cavity being smaller than in most melons), of a beautiful, deep salmon color, and of exquisite flavor, even down to the skin. The musky aroma of this melon is such that a single specimen will perfume a large room.
