Working dhows moored at the harbour on Doha's Corniche, in Qatar, Arabia. In the background are buildings from the 60s and 70s.

The Dhow harbour is at the heart of old Doha, which was once a small pearling town. The buildings behind date from the 60s and 70s when the an the 8km Corniche was built around Doha Bay, reclaiming part of the shore, and new buildings were built for government ministries, many of which moved to the skyscrapers in the New District further round the bay during the construction boom that began in about 2000.
